One of the easiest and quickest way to cook your oatmeal...is to not cook it at all! Instead you let it soak in a jar in the fridge overnight - and EASY-PEASY --> grab the jar of softened, moist porridge in the morning as you run out the door. Simple, quick, portable, and all without breaking the wallet!
1/2 cup Old-fashioned rolled Oats
1/2 Tbs Chia Seeds
1/2 a Banana
2/3 cup Milk (or non-dairy sub - Soy/Almond/Rice/Hemp/Cashew/Coconut, etc)
*Optional 1/3 cup yogurt for extra creamy factor (;
*Optional: 1-2 Tbs honey or agave sweetener of choice
Add all ingredients, except toppings, to a jar or other container and give it a good stir
Refrigerate overnight or at least 5 hours.
In the morning, add additional liquid if you like a thinner rather than thicker consistency
Add your toppings of choice
fruit (fresh or dried), nuts, nut butters, seeds, protein powder, granola, coconut, spices, cinnamon, vanilla, honey get creative!
