Tahini Sesame Cookies

What's Tahini?! Simply ground sesame seeds.

But it's also the secret ingredient that gives hummus its nutty flavor. Ever wonder how else to use tahini besides hummus? Here's a sweet idea! 




  • White/black sesame seeds (optional) to roll in

  • 1/3 cup maple syrup

  • ½ cup tahini

  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 1 tsp cinnaon

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1/4 cup all purpose

  • 1/4 cup oat flour

  • 1/2 cup quick oats


  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Place sesame seeds in a bowl for rolling after

  2. Combine maple syrup, tahini, and vanilla in a medium mixing bowl and whisk to combine. Stir in salt, cinnamon and baking powder. Add flours and oats and stir to incorporate. Dough will be sticky.

  3. Wet palms and form dough into balls about 2″ in diameter. Flatten a little and roll each in sesame seeds and place on parchment paper, spaced evenly apart.

  4. Bake for 10 minutes until golden, remove and let cool. Enjoy!
